This is the universal formula for data resilience:
Keeping full images of virtual servers. Enables instant file restore and resolves simple hardware failures within minutes.
Sending data to the cloud with Immutability (cannot be altered). Even if an attacker breaches the local backup server and deletes everything - the cloud backup stays locked and cannot be deleted.
Real-time replication of servers to a secondary site. Unlike backup, replication is designed for DR (Disaster Recovery) and lets you run the business from the secondary site with almost no downtime.
A backup that hasn't been tested doesn't exist. We perform periodic restoration tests to verify the data is intact and usable when it matters most.
This is a critical mistake. The shared responsibility model of cloud providers is clear: they're responsible for availability, you're responsible for the data. Accidental deletion, a corrupted sync, or a disgruntled employee wiping SharePoint folders - none of that is covered by the provider. An external SaaS backup is essential.
